It was so lovely of you to write that comment at Mayo's and to go to trouble to do it in Welsh. Diolch:)
However I did agree with that anon comment. I think there are times when he wants to shut the place down but feels an obligation to keep it open so that we can post there. I admit that I never really thought about the owner of the blog. I just used the blog to chat with my friends which I guess was pretty damn selfish of me.
To be honest I think it's different for the ones who've been there from the beginning. He's welcomed you all there and has got to know you and even chatted with you. He's obviously happy for you all to be there.
Then I come along. I just barged in like an uninvited guest and sat in the corner drinking all his wine and scoffing all the nibbles. I got drunk pretty quickly on the cheap plonk he'd provided and started talking complete rubbish! I'm embarrassed by some of the things I've said there. I know that my constant waffling can get on people's nerves.
Anyway I met a lot of wonderful people there so I'll always be grateful to him for that.
Would you be so kind as to say HI to everyone next time you're there?
i'll be honest with you: i don't think mayo has come by the blog in a long time. it used to be you could tell when he had been there, even if he had only made an anon comment. it's weird, but he has a very distinctive "voice". i was always able to recognize him.
i don't think it's a case of him keeping the place open, for us, or for anyone. i think, just like with so many sites on the internet, he's gone on following the thread of his own life, and left the place behind. you come across un-updated sites and blogs all the time, and i think that's what this blog is now too. those of us that are still here are just accustomed to coming here, or like me, for one reason or another unable to let go.
which is why i think you leaving is wrong. no one that i talk to here is annoyed by you, or thinks you get on their nerves. we like you. :)
please stay. don't be yet another person who leaves.
